Who We Are
Our History
In 1994 the first Bible study of Lanier Hills Church began on Wednesday night in a home in Gainesville, GA. Forty friends decided they wanted to start a church that was passionate about reaching people from all walks of life. The church quickly moved to a house and then to rented space in the Blue Ridge Shopping Center and then later occupied the Theatre next door. The church called Ron Barker as their Pastor. Lanier Hills Church was incorporated on April 13,1994. After explosive growth the church secured its present 40 acre property on November 16th, 1995. In 1999 the Worship Center was completed and the Family Center was completed the following year. In 2005 Randall Popham became the Lead Pastor and in October of 2009 the church launched a second Campus in north Hall County, GA.
In September of 2009 Pastor Trent and 20 'pioneers' from the Duckett Mill Campus planted the North Hall Campus. They began a lease for a Sunday night service at Fellowship of Living Praise on HWY 129. In the next six months time was spent praying, literally on their knees, asking God for a new location so they could move to an 11:00 am service time. 'Adventures in Missions' opened up their facility for them to lease and they moved there with an 11:00 am service time. In that time they grew from 30 to 100. The lease was ending at AIM and again the core team of 'pioneers' went to their knees in prayer asking God to open another door. Little did they know that God would be opening a door that was exceedingly and abundantly more than what they were asking for. After raising $30k in only two weeks they began renovation at 4091 Mt. Vernon rd in January of 2011. It was truly a God-sized task and God made it happen. They moved into the current location in February of 2011. They grew from 100 to 140 in the first six months. Today the growth continues on Mt. Vernon rd as they pray for God to secure this location as a tool for life change in the community, region and the world.
